When I arrived I was pretty much without food, and the first
night I had no time to get anything to cook. So I broke down and went to Parco
del Mare and got a pizza and fried calamari per portare via (to go). Saturday I
went food shopping and today was able to cook some veggies. I used pomodorini
(little tomatoes), patate gialli (yellow potatoes), basilica (basil), cippole bianca
(white onions), aglio (garlic), zucchini, melanzane (eggplant), pepperoni rossi
(red peppers), and olio di olivo. On top I threw in two different kinds of
salsiccia (sausage), and roasted it all together. I’m saving it for tomorrow,
but I did taste it for salt near the end and it was delicious.
