I made a Sunday gravy a day early to celebrate, starting
with fresh pomodorini (little tomatoes), cippole (onions), and basilico. I
added pollo (chicken), salsiccia (sausage), brasiola, and polpette di carne
(meatballs). It was delicious, and we’ve already eaten it two more times. First
was with pasta, then we made impromptu meatball sandwiches, then we had the
leftover chicken.
The bakery today had my favorite rustic bread filled with
olives, cheese and different types of meats like pancetta, sausage, and prosciutto.
It did not disappoint.
